As part of the series on Peter Lindbergh, we’re looking for the most expressive black and white portrait pictures. The 150 best portraits will be exhibited at the Photobastei on 9 December 2021.

Documentary filmmaker Armin Tobler and photographer Thomas Kunz dived into the world of Peter Lindbergh for the new photography format «Rohformat». The result? Four episodes, two tutorials and four pictures, which you can see here:

Photo contest and exhibition at Photobastei Zurich

Now it's your turn. On 22 June, we’re launching a photo contest. We’re looking for your best and most powerful black and white portrait photographs. In line with Peter Lindbergh photography style, we’ve deliberately chosen black and white photography. By a portrait, we mean a picture which shows a person. What about group pictures? Only if they have portrait character, such as a picture of a couple, twins, a mother with her child and the like. The person must be the main motif and the head must be visible. Animal portraits aren’t what we’re looking for.

We’ll award the three best pictures with a digitec voucher worth CHF 400.–, CHF 200.– and CHF 100.– and will exhibit the 150 most beautiful pictures from 9 to 23 December 2021 in Photobastei Zurich. We’ll kick off the exhibition with a small opening event.

Details about the contest

You can submit your pictures until 8 July 2021. After the entry deadline, a jury will determine the winners and inform them personally. We’ll present the winning photos on digitec.ch.
