Delayed deliveries after a short circuit
On Saturday, we’d scheduled extra shifts at our main warehouse to make up for a cantonal public holiday. Then, from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m., everything ground to a halt. That’s why some deliveries are now running late.
Item in stock? Yes. Delivery time? Four days.
Delivery is currently taking longer than usual for some products. Only items from our central warehouse in Wohlen that are being delivered to your home are affected. Due to a short circuit, we’ve pushed back all delivery dates by three days as a precaution. We’re working on making up the lost time.
First came the public holiday...
On Thursday, 4 June, our central warehouse in Wohlen was closed because the canton of Aargau was observing Corpus Christi. For Saturday, 6 June, we’d called in dozens of extra staff to work through the backlog of orders. The plan fell apart: instead of catching up on the backlog, we had to send people home. A short circuit knocked out most of the warehouse for hours.
The culprit? A faulty frequency converter. Frequency converters continuously regulate the speed of electric motors, enabling a crate to zip along the conveyor belt and still slow down at exactly the right moment to be loaded – as in the automated warehouse in Wohlen.
... then the short circuit
When the first shift started at 5 a.m., the whole system refused to budge. By the time the converter had been replaced and the system recalibrated, it was 2 p.m. In the time the system was down, tens of thousands of orders had built up. Only around half of the planned parcels could be prepared for dispatch. We’ve therefore extended the delivery window for all orders from Wohlen by three days.

Our colleagues in Wohlen are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible. That said, orders from this warehouse will continue to take longer through to the end of this week.
Double-check the delivery date – even if there’s a green tick
Alongside the availability indicator (the green tick), we also show a delivery timeframe for every product. That way, you can see before placing your order whether we can deliver it the next day. If we can’t guarantee it, the delivery date is updated accordingly. So, be sure to double-check the delivery date before you order, even if the tick is green – especially if your order is time-critical.
I like people and I'm terribly curious. Not the worst prerequisites for my job. I collect stories like other Lego figures and cycle in all weathers. When I saw that the WiFi at Galaxus is called "Lan Solo", my heart leapt for joy.
