Batteries hold on to top spot in our 2024 bestseller rankings

Digitec Galaxus has delved into its search data from the first half of 2023. The findings? While Digitec customers proved particularly interested in the iPhone 14 Pro, Galaxus customers were most likely to type «Lego» into the search bar. The stats also revealed Galaxus customers in Europe to have clear search preferences.
The first half of 2023 has been and gone. These were the trending searches between January and June:
Over the first six months of the year, Digitec customers most frequently searched for the iPhone 14 Pro. Other Apple products such as MacBooks and iPads also bagged places at the top of the search term rankings. In addition, Digitec customers showed a keen interest in monitors and game consoles, such as the PS5.
From January to May, galaxus.ch customers most often searched for Lego. June was the only month to see the term knocked off the top spot by «fan». Lego Technic and Lego Star Wars were also highly sought-after in the first half of 2023. The colder months saw «kettle» clinch a spot in the search term top five. Once spring hit, however, «barbecue», «air conditioner» and «sunscreen» were searched more frequently.
If we look at Galaxus outside of its home market of Switzerland, a mixed picture emerges. Germany and Austria shared Switzerland’s interest in the iPhone 14 Pro in the first half of this year. Meanwhile, in France, «iPhone 14 Pro Max» was the most searched-for term. Galaxus in Italy proved to be a bit of an outlier, with customers there most likely to search for «Hue», the brand Philips uses to sell products such as table lamps.
Do these rankings tally up with your search preferences? Or are you and your searches not reflected in these two league tables? What did you last search for on Digitec or Galaxus? Let us know in the comments!
