Yes, I can confirm that. I have installed the duplex unit in my HP 477dw PageWide Pro. In addition, you have to reset a counter in the printer. There is a small YouTube video (Removing and Replacing the Duplex Module / HP PageWide) that shows how to get to the service menu and how to reset the counter.
