Hello Well, as a starter set you need a Philips Hue lamp (bulb), a Philips Hue Bridge and a switch, for example the Philips Hue Dimmer. Once you have screwed in the bulb at home, you can connect the bulb and the Philips Hue switch according to the instructions. When asked if you can still use the switch on the wall that used to switch the lamp on and off, yes and no at the same time, because the lamps are now controlled via the Bridge and always need power. Of course you can switch off the lamp via the power switch and also switch it on, but you cannot switch it on again with the Philips Hue switch when it is switched off. I hope I was able to answer your question. You could delve much deeper into the matter but that would probably only confuse you. It is also possible to convert the existing switch in a roundabout way, but this is complicated and should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Hello Miatanet. I only have the dimmer switch in operation, but not these lamps. First I would look for software upgrades for all components. Then check the configuration of the lamps and the dimmer switch in the app. If all else fails, I would remove the lamps from the network/bridge and register them again. Good luck!

Hi, I have e.g. 6 lamps, from two hubs and different zones, from one area coupled with a dimmer switch.

That should work. However, in this case I would use the motion detector. Then the light comes on automatically when you enter the hallway. I have also done it this way. Depending on the size, two motion detectors may be necessary.

Yes, that is not a problem. You can control several lamps / light bulbs (also distributed over several rooms) with one dimmer switch. You can assign the lamps to the switch in the app.

This setting must be made for the lamp itself in the app. There you can specify whether the last setting or another default should be used when the lamp is switched on again via the main switch.

You can use several of the switches simultaneously for the same luminaires / rooms. You can assign four functions to each switch, e.g. press ON once for dimmed light in the bedroom, press ON twice for dimmed light in the bedroom and hallway and press ON three times for bright light in the bedroom. Each switch can control either individual lamps, one to three rooms or the entire flat.

Unfortunately no. The switch can only communicate with a Hue lamp directly or with the hub. For quasi maximum flexibility in terms of home automation, I can recommend the WiFi Buttons from MyStrom. E.g. myStrom WiFi Button Plus (wireless switch) With this you can, for example, store a URL that is to be called up. In this way, you can control all kinds of things via IFTTT, for example. Hope that helps.

Hi Pkipfer Unfortunately, I cannot offer you a guaranteed solution to your problem. To me it sounds like a defect. I have about 8 such switches and have been able to put them all into operation without any problems, whereby I have coupled them directly with the bridge and not with a light bulb. So I'll ask the following 0815 questions: - App is up to date? - Bridge firmware is up to date? - Has the bridge been disconnected from the power supply and rebooted? Next: - Maybe one of the button cells is rotten and the required operating voltage is not reached? - Download the app "All 4 hue" (in my opinion the best app, except that it has no authorisation for remote access for legal/security reasons) and try to find the switch. - as a last resort, you are probably left with "Settings", "Hue Bridges" <bridge name>, "Cleanup", where all data is DELETED or (before you delete everything). - You get another switch to test. Since not only Galaxus but also digitec have introduced the, sorry, "shi..." low quantity surcharge, I have absolutely no trouble recommending lumimart for you to buy. They always have 20% off everything - so you can get these things for an unbeatable 19.95, like right NOW! Good luck to you!
