Z270E just bought. With my Fractal Design / Define R4 computer case, the connections for FAN from the computer case have 3 PIN. And on the motherboard the connectors for FAN have 4 PIN. Do I have to buy an adaptor? How should I do it?

Z270E just bought. With my Fractal Design / Define R4 computer case, the connections for FAN from the computer case have 3 PIN. And on the motherboard the connectors for FAN have 4 PIN. Do I have to buy an adaptor?  How should I do it?

This is not a problem. The fourth PIN is used for PWM. This means the motherboard is able to directly control the 4-pin fans to automatically adjust their speed to the corresponding temperature.

You can always connect 3 pin fans to 4 pin connectors.
They will work normally, they just won't be automatically controlled by the motherboard.

You shouldn't have to think about how to connect them, because there is only one way to do it:
