I can't tell you that. I hope or believe that the quality will not deteriorate. The optics will certainly change depending on the manufacturer. If the HDMI 1.4 is no longer so popular, they will certainly make some changes to the optics to be able to offer them cheaper, but hopefully the quality will not suffer as a result.
