Question about ASUS Tinker Board
How are the USB ports? Do they have more power than the Pi? I wanted to realise a video project with the Pi (USB webcams on the Pi), but the USB (or bridge) ports on the Pi are just rubbish, i.e. the cams always have image interference (which is then recognised as movement and starts a recording -> unusable)! This does not deserve the name "USB 2.0"!
First tests with dietpi.com: Absolute "no go". It hardly produces a clean picture. I will now try it with tinkerOS. Hope that works better, otherwise it's going back.
Basically, the Tinker Board is much better than the RPi 3 in terms of performance. The network is certainly much better. On the Tinker Board, this is not connected via the internal USB bus as it is on the RPi 3. Accordingly, the USB bus on the Tinker Board should be relieved just because of this. Unfortunately, I can't say any more about this.
In the end, it's always a question of the drivers. What do they get out of the hardware? In view of the relatively low price, I would personally just give it a try. Simple web cam streaming should be possible, you'd think.

I haven't had any problems with the USB port on the Tinker Board when transferring data. But I haven't used the Tinker Board with webcams either. With external hard drive and USB sticks it works fine....
But you won't get 4k over USB 2.0 ;-)
