How well does the dial work for video editing? Can I use it to jump precisely step by step from frame to frame, or is it too smooth for that?

what you ask isn't by default but you can easily customize the dial to achieve this. Go to 'Wheel' setting and create a new custom function: https://redmondmag.com/articles...
