Why is this mouse apparently no longer available for purchase anywhere? Is it no longer in production?
Yes, the G602 production was discontinued. The best mouse I ever had. I wanted to buy 2 more in stock and was disappointed. However, the successor G604 looks quite ok, so I think it's worth a try.
