Why is the scanner always lower resolution than the print? The device would otherwise be the ideal replacement for private power users to get away from ink. But in contrast to MFGs costing 350 CHF with ink, there are none available even for 2000 CHF where print and scan have 1200 dpi at A3 size. Why doesn't the industry want to sell me this?

This is absolutely correct. After a little familiarisation, the device is really good to use, with few drawbacks. However, with clear limitations in the scanner...... pity.
