When photocopying, can only individual areas of the original be copied and enlarged?

Well, yes. For example, if you place the object to be enlarged in the A5 area and then select enlarge 144%, it works. However, a "pre-scan" on the display of the device is not possible, it is much too small for that.
But the included software "Paper Port" offers something like that (possibly separate download), it is simply a diversion with scanning and file on the PC.
