I would also say the pot is non-stick (probably Teflon). You can prevent the rice from "burning" or browning at the bottom by washing it well. Works perfectly for me and I find the rice cooker very good.
Unfortunately, I can't say exactly what kind of material it is, but it behaves like Teflon (which it might be). My experience with the coating has been very good: the rice tends to dry on the bottom, especially with small portions, but it is easy to remove. The kettle itself is made of aluminium.
