What is the difference between the normal mouse and the "For Mac" mouse? What do I risk by using the normal mouse?

Gesture support is, unless I'm mistaken, specific to the MX Mac (e.g. to switch between desktops, thumb click + scroll left or right = almost equivalent three finger gesture on a mac trackpad). On reddit they bring up the problem of scrolling with the scroll wheel, I also had this problem for a while, it disappeared for several months and reappeared recently.

The one for Mac is designed for this OS. It is optimised for the software and applications of this OS. It can also be used with an iPad. The Windows version is optimised for the latter. If you take the Windows version for Mac you will probably not be able to configure it 100% with your computer (shortcuts).
