UTM stands for Unified Threat Management. Licences for UTM services are valid for 1 year from the 1st activation of the firewall. To do this, you need to create a Zyxel account. After one year, the subscription costs around CHF 400 per year. The firewall is not plug-and-play. You need to know how to configure it, and that requires knowledge of networking. It can be configured using a text command line or the more user-friendly Web interface.
