When will 5g Beim nord 2 come?
I have a contract with Salt.
In the network settings I can only select 4g or 3g/2g.
I also tried the whole thing with a Swisscom sim (in a place where it has 5G) but on the nord I still only had the 4g option.
I have already written to oneplus support, but they don't want to help me any further, and Salt says the fault is with oneplus.
I have already found some instructions on the internet for activating 5g, but unfortunately only for other Oneplus models.
DIGITEC the device is called OnePlus Nord 5G and not north.
Greetings Elis
I have now received the following answer from support:
Thank you for your call and your patience.
I have now contacted our team from our own mobile subscription digitec connect, who are also interested in ensuring that the devices sold on the shop can be used with the full range of functions.
The situation is as follows: As you assume, different provider codes must be stored in the software of the manufacturer so that the full range of functions can be used with the corresponding provider. With Samsung and Apple devices, this works out of the box. Unfortunately, these codes are often not stored for manufacturers such as Google or OnePlus who do not have Swiss national companies and whose devices are grey-imported, because the national companies abroad do not deal with them emphatically. We have also written a podcast about this:

However, we are constantly testing devices ourselves and have already come so far with OnePlus that the OnePlus 8 series is now compatible for the Swiss market. Currently, we are also working together with digitec connect, Sunrise and OnePlus to certify the full range of functions of the North series for the Swiss market.
So it's a trade-off. We offer you the opportunity to purchase devices through our sales channels that you would otherwise not find in Switzerland at Sunrise or Swisscom, but on the other hand it may be that not everything works 100% for the Swiss market in the initial phase.
We will continue to work on this so that in the future it is more transparently indicated on the shop which devices have been tested and certified for the Swiss market and which have not yet been tested and certified, so that there may be restrictions.
