I have read that the direct connection via Bluetooth is not as stable and of much poorer quality, which is why you need the dongle if you talk on the phone for several hours a day.

But how can it be that a dongle is worth 60% of the headset price? For 128.- you get a headset, a dongle, a charging case and the charging cable.... I find that highly questionable, almost a rip-off.

Answer

I have never needed the dongle. The connection to my mobile phone (iPhone) is always stable and the headset connects immediately. I don't have any connection interruptions, except when I move very far away from the mobile phone.
