The small print is one thing with GoPro, my Go Pro 7 Black suffered water damage in the summer of 2020 while swimming with my children. Go Pro's customer service asked me if the camera was watertight when I bought it and I said yes. I was in the water about 2-3 times with it no deeper than 1 metre. Although the camera was still within the warranty period and I was not a member, I was refused a warranty replacement. I have a Diskstation for storage, so I don't need this cloud solution. I bought the camera in a sports shop @Digitec,.... Now if I order a new GoPro 9 from Digitec and I suffer water damage again. Do you send the camera in and GoPro decides or do you replace it in your own competence?
It is sent in and assessed by the appropriate service centre. In the event of water damage, a cost estimate is generally provided.
Maybe not the answer you are looking for, but for GoPros there are the transparent underwater boxes in which you protect the GoPro from water.
Hoi Zäme
I have also used my Gopros under water, but never for long and never with a good feeling. GP says yes, waterproof, but they can't give a guarantee for all cases and all cams, because neither the battery door nor the interface door are watertight per se and in the long run. Underwater cases are the better choice - or at least for me, the quieter choice...
