probably not as long as it's an original. But apparently all headphones have the crumbly shell problem. A real plus for Bose. It's also very comfortable to wear Bose on planes because it makes noise reduction.

Bose has a new business model, they produce bad earcups so you have to order a replacement every 2 years!
