Question about Brother Lc-123c
The Brother printer does not recognise cartridge LC 123 even though the ink cartridge is full and the minimum shelf life is about one year. Scanning also does not work if a cartridge is full but the date has expired. It is a pity, because "scanning" does not need cartridges, but the manufacturer Brother does. Presumably, planned obsolescence (planned wear and tear, product obsolescence) is a marketing strategy in which the obsolescence of a product is planned and conceptually intended by the manufacturer. Too bad - really too bad ...

I had this problem too. The following tip helped: Insert other cartridges than LC-123x for a short time, namely the LC-121x, i.e. the smaller ones. Then use the "big" LC123x again, which were not recognised before :-)
