Epson EcoTank ET-8500
Ink tank, Colour
Our experience with the predecessor ET 7700 was that after a relatively short time it caused large ink blots on all media. Head cleaning did nothing but cause a lot of ink to be wasted. In addition, both the Expression XP55 and the ET7700 caused the carriage to move to the left and right only about once every 30 seconds when printing CDs after about 6 prints. Disconnecting from the mains and rebooting did not help. The best print quality of photos or CD printing, but unfortunately a hardware failure for the second time in a row. What about the ET8500 in this respect?
Unfortunately, we do not have any real empirical data on this. We recommend asking in the discussions for testimonials from other customers. More customers see it there.
I would be interested in that too. I also have/had the ET-7700. After one year the ink smears started. The device was replaced under warranty. Now, a year later, the "new" ET-7700 printer is also smearing. I then got to the bottom of the cause and found out that the ink is accumulating and building up at the "ink collecting basin" under the print heads. Removing the problem with household paper worked again for a few weeks/months. Now, unfortunately, the print heads are clogged and a new one is due, but which Epson Multitank or another?
