Question about HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 Plus
Need a new NAS (currently have Synology). What are the experiences with this part + 3-4 x 10/12TB disks and TrueNAS? There are quite good reviews about it. I think the performance is much better.
Hello pijuschanda, hardware is technically sufficient for truenas but for home users I would recommend you.
- 2x 3.5 HD max 3, advantages = less noise, heat, electricity bill
- 1 or 2 ssds = M2, advantage speed for Plex streaming, DVR, Kodi, etc.
- 16 GB RAM is enough, unless you want to run multiple VMs
- OS, check out Unraid, costs 59$ but worth it.
