I use Bose headphones and have not noticed any difference, the volume can be changed via the volume buttons as already written by Maxlehmann, the volume can also be controlled remotely in the settings, but only when the headphones are plugged in.

I don't know...I use headphones via Bluetooth. This works tip top....the volume can be changed via the normal volume control
