I also had the problem with connecting additional devices at the beginning. The following worked for me: The operating instructions say that you have to press the button on the side for 3 seconds to connect a new device. But it doesn't say that the lid of the case must be open!

I had the same problem when pairing with my iPhone X. After what felt like 100 attempts, it suddenly worked after all. There was / is no reason that I can see. Of course, I cannot judge whether it is the same problem, but perseverance may pay off.
