it simply needs the appropriate font; text is converted to barcode and vice versa.

Sure - it just needs the appropriate font; text is transformed into barcode and vice versa.
> Download the barcode font (freeware).
> Duplicate text e.g. in Excel - display once as barcode, once as 'normal' font - with Excel this can be automated.
