Question about WD My Book Duo

Is this product even recommended if you don't need the RAID? Because if you buy 2 x WD Elements Desktop (12TB), you save 50.-. So you're paying 50.- for the RAID1 functionality, which you can use as an option, correct? However, if you then set RAID1, you only have 10TB, but that is already clear to me.

WD My Book Duo is always operated with RAID. Either with RAID 0 or RAID 1. With RAID 0, the two hard drives are combined into one logical drive. In the case of the WD My Book Duo (20TB), 20TB are available. With RAID 1, only 10 TB are available on the same model and the data are mirrored on the second drive, which results in an automatic data backup.
