Is this 21.6 GB/s really true? I read a report about the Displayport 1.3 and it says that it has a 50% higher bandwidth but only manages 3.24 GB/s...

Helpful answer
Gbps = Gigabit/s
GB/s = Gigabyte/s

8 Gbps = 1 GB/s

And so the 21.6 Gbps mentioned are a whole 2.7 GB/s

Yes, the data is correct for DP1.2. I think there is a decimal point error. Why don't you move the decimal point at 3.24GB/s behind the 2...? Is it then 50% more than 21.6 GB/s?

PS: Possibly check the data of a report from several sources in future ;-)
