Is there a way to charge a smartphone or a powerbank (not from Goal Zero) directly with the Boulder 50? Perhaps an adapter from the 8mm port to USB A?

As far as I know, there is no such thing. For your purposes, I use a panel from Xtorm and am very satisfied with it.
