Is the volume of the expansion tank sufficient compared to a pump/reservoir combination or do I have to order a separate reservoir?
Yes. I'm using a custom loop and the pump itself is enough as reservoir. I have the additional reservoir still in the box because is not necessary.
Yes. The tank itself is enough for CPU + GPU if you want. I'm using only for CPU and took about 1/2L of coolant in the loop: CPU block, Corsair XD3 Pump and Corsair 140x280mm radiator.
Yes, that's quite enough.
In my opinion, the container is sufficient. But mine is not designed for hardcore gaming.
