Is the device suitable for splitting the image of a PC between two monitors, as if the PC had 2 monitor outputs? Or will the same thing be displayed on both monitors? I know this is also set in the operating system, but does the splitting work with this splitter? Thank you.

The splitter works like the second variant described - the input signal is "duplicated" and thus displayed on both outputs (if connected and switched on) at the same time. The splitter also automatically recognises to which of the two outputs a device is connected (indicated by the LED on the splitter). 

The splitter is used to display a signal on both the TV and the beamer in the living room without having to reconnect the cable each time.
