Yes, I scan to the network share of my Synology NAS (DS214play).
It is absolutely necessary to have a PC/Mac running the software. Only then is scanning directly to the NAS possible. The scanner itself has no "profiles". If you want this, you have to buy the Fujitsu N7100.
