Is it possible that this device does not recognise Apple CD drives? I have a Macbook Air Late 20 and wanted to connect an external CD drive (from Apple). But somehow it does not recognise.... Thanks for your help.

The Superdrive needs a little more power than the USB port on the dock provides. According to Apple, you need a USB-A to C adapter: https://support.apple.com/de-ch/HT202665
