In summary, for all intents and purposes, these headphones are not 4K HDR compatible. The information that says otherwise is wrong and misleading. I bought this headset by reading the Digitec reviews but they are wrong. All 4K HDR devices can connect to the headset but the processor output is outside of 1080p HDCP 1.4. Do not buy for 4K HDR use on TV!

HD Audio and 4K / 3D Video formats supported. Check with Sony, I don't have more precise information.
This video format is very recent
The first requirement does not concern you directly but it is the most important: the source must be captured in HDR. As with photography, this means using two cameras that film the same scene simultaneously with two different exposures and then (to keep it simple) merging the two video streams into a single one that can be used by our TVs.

Then don't look for the HDR ON/OFF function in the settings of your TV, it must have the hardware capabilities. This includes a 10-bit display (instead of 8-bit on almost all current televisions) and a local dimming LED display!

While some models such as the Sony X850C, X900C and X910C can take advantage of HDR thanks to an update, few products are in this case. You will therefore need to upgrade your equipment if you have a television set that is not very recent (and rather high-end).

The last prerequisite, which will join the first one, is that you need HDR content. For the moment there is simply no HDR content and we can't wait for the arrival of UltraHD Blu-ray.
