Is it also available without a protruding pole? The unit I want to convert for CH has an EU plug according to the packaging. Unfortunately, the adapter I ordered here has a pole that sticks out. And there is no hole for it on my unit. This means that I can't use the thing without the help of a hacksaw (which would probably no longer be in accordance with the regulations). Does anyone know which FIX adapter I should use instead? My unit has a 2-pole plug. The poles are too thick for CH sockets. There are no holes on the plug of the device for possible poles on the adapters. :-(
The metal pin that is in the way is the earth. If your device is 2-pole (and therefore unearthed), you can use an adapter like this to convert: Max Hauri Fixadapter (Type 11, Type C (CEE 7/17) contour plug)
it doesn't matter if the middle pole sticks out because you can touch it without any problem and often touch it indirectly because this pole is the earth and often grounds the metal housing of an appliance so that any fault current can flow back there and not via the person.
there are also adapters with 3 poles - available in all DIY shops and many electrical shops. moreover, these can then also be removed again without any problems and used on other devices.
the most elegant solution, however, is to install a CH plug on the cable :-).
