Question about Xiaomi Redmi Note 7
In view of the $180 that the device costs in Xiaomi's traditional markets, is the CHF 265 really that appropriate? The price still seems a bit excessive for this mid-ranger. The Mi 8 Lite is available for less, has similar specs and certainly better workmanship.

The workmanship should actually be equally good in both. But the Redmi Note 7 is better than the Mi 8 Lite in the following points: 4000 mAh battery, 48MP camera, Quick Charge 4.0 (and 3.5mm jack :D). Besides, the Mi 8 Lite is "already" half a year on the market and already dropped in price.... The Redmi Note 7 will probably also go down to 220-250 Fr. this year.
See, now it's already at 229 Fr. :-) (as of 19.04.)
The Redmi Note 7 is apparently also competitive at the price, but we are unfortunately quite far away from the prices that were mentioned in advance (see e.g. https://www.blick.ch/digital...).
That's right, yes. However, I like the metal frame of the Mi 8 Lite a bit better than the plastic of the Redmi. All in all, it would be quite OK for 220.-, yes.
