In terms of isolation, are these headphones better than the QC35II? For example, when I listen to music loudly, at a certain volume I can hear the music from outside. Is this better or worse with the NC700?

Yes, much better. If the headphones fit properly on the ears, you can listen to music at 80% volume without disturbing the person next to you.
