In c't 6/2021 on page 52 under the title "Garantieverschleppung - Kyocera verschleiert Schwachstelle" a systematic problem is apparently described. Stripes are said to appear from approx. 5000 pages onwards because a screw for the removal of toner is worn out on a spring. There is also a link to a video in Russian that is well made and a forum (ct.de/y8d3). Is it known whether the problem described still occurs as standard? Have other buyers also had this problem?

Dear Madam/Sir,

I confirm that this problem exists also for my printer Kyocera M5526cdw. The dirty lines on printed pages appeared from September 2020.
It would be great if the manufacturer could solve this problem free of charge.

Thank you!

I have sold a Kyocera Ecosys M5526cdw to about 10 customers in the last 5 years. 5 of them have already had to be replaced in the last 3 years, as the problem I mentioned occurred shortly after the warranty expired. One of my customers had the fault repaired (repair costs approx. CHF 300-400). One year later, the same fault reappeared. I cannot recommend this printer to anyone.

Seems to be a really old problem. My Kyocera Ecosys FS-C2026MFP, which I bought around 2010, also started to produce the described streaks occasionally (actually not always). The 5000 pages thing may well be true. In addition, the printer's management website has such outdated encryption that I can no longer change settings with any browser - but after 12 years, I'm happy to let it retire.

I have also been experiencing these streaks for a few weeks on my printer that I bought in July 2020.

I have the same problem. When I asked, Kyocera said the warranty had expired. The repair costs are horrendous (if it can be repaired). I was told that a printer should be able to run for more than 3-4 years without any problems, but there was no reply. I will certainly not buy a Kyocera again, as this is already the second identical printer with this problem.

I can only concur here. Bought 4 years ago, only prints with streaks. I opened the printer and everything smudged. In addition, a toner is no longer recognised, nor is a new one, but there is no way to continue printing, the software prevents this. This can only be resolved with special chips... Kyocera? No thanks.
