Question about Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM ART, Nikon F DX
If I put this lens on my Nikon D7100, do I effectively have the focal length of 18-35mm or do I still have to calculate x 1.5? And can you simply explain when you have to calculate the focal length x 1.5 and when not?

No, you don't need to calculate x 1.5 with this lens, as the sensor compatibility is geared towards APS-C / DX.
You only have to calculate the focal lengths with x 1.5 if it is a full-frame lens.
The easiest way to find out whether it is a full-frame or APS-C lens is to check the specifications (under sensor compatibility).
