The new SIGMA 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM is the first zoom lens ever to offer an initial aperture of F1.8 over the entire focal length range. Thus it is currently the fastest standard zoom lens for digital SLR cameras with image sensors up to APS-C format. The focal length of the lens is equivalent to 27mm - 52.5mm for the 35mm KB format and covers the image angles of several fixed focal lengths. Obwohl bei Offenblende die Ergebnisse bei weitem nicht optimal sind, sind sie allemal akzeptabel und abgeblendet ist das Vermögen der Auflösung sensationell. Zudem arbeitet das sehr gut verarbeitete Modell mit hoher Lichtstärke und lässt sich sehr gut bedienen.
