Question about MSI GeForce RTX 2080S GAMING X TRIO

Hi, the trio card was mounted with an i7 9700 and it works. I also have an i7 8700 with a rtx 2080 duke oc and it works fine too. I don't think there could be a compatibility issue between a processor and a graphics card but rather between the motherboard and the processor depending on the socket number. I hope I've understood and answered your question as well as possible
