I would like to extract the audio signal from the HDMI ARC of my beamer to feed it to my receiver, as it has no HDMI input. However, there would be no device connected to the Extractor HDMI Out. Does anyone know if this will work?

don't forget: S/PDIF can only transmit a compressed surround signal (dolby digital or dts). with an uncompressed input you will only have stereo out.

That works for sure. I also get sound from the extractor before the beamer (on HDMI out) is running.
