Epson SureColor SC-P900 Roll Unit Bundle

Ink, Colour

Question about Epson SureColor SC-P900 Roll Unit Bundle

I would be interested to know what is included - is the roller unit included and are the ink cartridges supplied 100% full? Many thanks in advance for any information.

It is a bit confusing as Digitec has different offers with partly wrong data. The product number like here C11CH37401BR with BR at the end is the version with the roller unit. You can also see this from the size of the packaging (75 cm high), as the roller unit comes in a second box. The roll unit is definitely worth it, because roll paper is cheaper and can be printed without borders, so there is less waste.

When the printer is first started, it fills the tubes that go from the cartridges to the print head and the print head. The inserted cartridges are largely used up in the process. Depending on the colour, they may be used up after 30 A4 prints. In some cases, however, they last much longer. Consumption varies greatly depending on the colour. Roughly speaking, you can expect about 1 ink per A4.

It is worth finding out more about the employees of such a printer. It takes a lot of effort to familiarise yourself with fine art printing and it costs a lot, but you will be rewarded with a professional print quality that you won't get from a photo service or a normal print shop. You have to install a colour profile for a specific paper and set everything else correctly so that the printer knows how to print on this paper. There are test paper ranges from various manufacturers to help you choose the paper you want. I mount the prints on Aludibond using double-sided adhesive film. This produces works of art that look very elegant and last for decades. It's really worth it if you do it right. You learn a lot and it's a fun hobby.

Of course, you can also simply use the printer as a slightly better household printer. If you do a lot of large prints, it's cheaper than using small devices where the expensive cartridges run out much more quickly and always dry out. However, you should also use this printer at least once a month so that the ink doesn't get stuck.

There were offers where the roll unit bundle was included, as it was for me at the time. But there were also offers where you had to buy it separately, so you may need to ask. In my case, the ink was included, the bottles were between 40 - 50 % full and I was able to print for a very long time with the ink supplied, I remember that. I haven't recorded how many pages I was able to print.

Yes, for the roll unit and the ink cartridges are present, but with a reduced capacity.

Personally I would buy the Canon version, if you don't use the Epson for a while the print heads are clogged every time and you have to clean them several times which takes a lot of ink.

Roller Yes, cartridges enough to load the system and do a couple of prints, but definitely not full.
