It actually behaves like a keyboard.
Or what OS do you have on your cash register? Do you have a POS cash register?; Here, too, this should probably work without any problems.
Unless the automatic hardware detection is deactivated, which might not be impossible.

Usually, these things work when you connect them. The configuration is usually done via barcodes. e.g. you want to turn it down, then you have a barcode in the manual or online and when you scan it, it turns down.
