I want to connect my NVidia Shield to the splitter and from there to the receiver/soundbar (YSP-5600) and TV. The use case is that I then have the picture on the TV and the sound on the soundbar. The whole setup is to watch HDR UHD (4k 10bit) films and the YSP-5600 unfortunately does not transmit the HDR signal, so the HDR signal has to go directly to the TV and the sound via the bar. Unfortunately, the nvidia shield only has one HDMI output, hence the splitter.

According to the manufacturer, the device supports a data throughput of 10.2 Gbit/s. Assuming that by 4k you mean 3840 x 2160 pixels, you get 3840*2160*30bit (because each channel is 10bit) *30 frames per second, which then gives (after dividing by 10^9 to get from bit to Gbit) 7.46496Gb/s. Theoretically, this should be sufficient. However, it is not enough for 60 frames per second, which would require twice as much throughput. According to the specifications, the splitter roughly corresponds to HDMI standard 1.4, so it can be assumed that 10bit per channel is not a problem because this hdmi generation also supports it. See here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Version_comparison . The thing is, with these HDMI extenders and devices you can never be 100% sure, especially if you have several in a row. If in doubt, ask the manufacturer if it works with nvidia Shield. good luck.

Have you asked the manufacturer for a splitter that works with the Nvidia Shield?
