I need an inexpensive printer for simple prints. I was then recommended this printer. However, I still have a small concern: can the ink dry out and clog the printer if it is used too little? Or is it safe to leave the printer idle for about a month? Best regards; Yves

The ink in an Epson EcoTank ET-2830 can actually dry out and clog the print nozzles if the printer is used too infrequently. Here are some important points to bear in mind:
- The ink tanks themselves do not dry out, but the internal components, especially the print nozzles, can dry out due to ink residue if the printer is used infrequently.
- To avoid drying out, you should carry out regular test prints, for example every two to three weeks. This keeps the ink fresh and flushes the components.
- The printer should be set up in a cool location to avoid direct sunlight and heat from other devices, as heat favours drying out.
- When switching off the printer, the button on the device and then the plug on the socket should be used to bring the print head into a protective position.
It is therefore not safe to leave the printer switched off for a month or so without taking measures to prevent the ink from drying out. Regular maintenance and use can help to avoid these problems.
