I just can't get it to connect to the app. How do I set the "audio system to setup mode" as the app requires? Firmware & app are up to date, connection with WLAN is stable...

It's not the setup mode, but is "Keep network connection" activated? It is needed for access from the app.
Menu-System Settings-Internete Settings-Hold Network Connection
