I just bought this screen and tried to connect it to my Dell XPS 15 9500. Seems to work but I have to go through a dokin station from iTec and now the 144hz does not work. I went to the Asus VG248 monitor via the dokin station before and there 144hz worked fine.however with the Dell S3422DWG I can only select 59.9hz. Why does it not work with the Asus monitor but with the Dell?

Probably because the resolution is too high for you. If your docking station doesn't support Thundebolt, you can forget about 3440x1440@144.
