I have tried to connect my Asus Zenbook (UX330UA) to a Samsung display via HDMI using this station. Error message: the DisplayPort connection cannot work. What's wrong?

Have you tried connecting the HDMI output of the laptop to the DisplayPort of the TV? That doesn't work, you need active converters for that.

If the laptop has a DP output and the display has an HDMI input, this should work, but not in every case.

Probably the HDMI output is not supported via the USB Type-C interface. Since the Micro HDMI output is already present. That there is no possibility : to use 2 simultaneous HDMI resolution . This could be the reason , unfortunately I am not an owner of an Asus Zenbook .
For me, the LMP docking works via the HDMI port with the HDMI cable to the TV.
