I have seen that the JBL Tuner 2 has an aux output. This means that I can connect an external device (e.g. an I-Pod, portable CD player, etc.) and the JBL Tuner 2 will then play the music from it? Do I have to change anything, or does the device itself detect the external device at the aux output?

That's right. You can use the aux input to connect external sound sources, such as your laptop, iPod or similar, to play music via cable. I can't guarantee you one hundred per cent that the device will be recognised automatically. However, I strongly assume that it will, as there is no button for selecting the aux input.
