I have lost the left one and could now get a left one from someone else. Is that possible? Do they connect?

Yes, pairing the old earphones with another is possible directly via the charging case. To do this, simply press both earphones down in the open charging case and hold them for at least 7s. When pairing is complete, the LED flashes green and goes out.
